Think of a time when you were really clear and focused on something you wanted to have in your life. It could have been a change you wanted to make or something new you wanted to take on. You thought about it, planned how you were going to get it, worked hard to make it happen, imagined yourself accomplishing it, you may have even shared with others what you were going to do. Can you remember the details?
Do you remember the energy and excitement that fueled your desires, tenacity and commitment? You have probably experienced this several times in your life. Maybe as recent as this year. Great!!! The timing is perfect.
What would be available to you if you were to get into a 2 month HOME STRETCH attitude on that or any other unfinished goal, dream, planning or project? Can you see yourself crossing the finish line?
How exciting, two whole months to the end of the year. That's a lot of time to revisit your new year resolutions, goals, visioning and or planning for 2011. If you haven't done any of that this year, it's not too late. Each moment is a new moment!
HOME STRETCH RECIPE FOR SUCCESS -
Identify an event, outcome, result or experience that is important to you that you would like to begin to move forward on now.
Write at least 3 reasons or benefits for taking on this venture. In other words, how will your life be different if you were to accomplish this task? (Begin with the end in mind as Stephen Covey would say).
Take a deep breath and let whatever is running through your mind be there without judgement. This is an opportunity to allow your beliefs, fears, concerns and judgements be there as information only!!! You do not have to follow them.
Make a few notes on what has worked when you have previously set goals or taken on projects. These are your strengths and success strategies. They can be transferred to this situation.
Make a few notes on what didn't work when you have previously set goals or taken on projects. These are your obstacles or challenges. These can be challenged, explored and moved through. Not everything is as it seems. Most of what you see here is your conditioning, programming, blueprints and filters of the situation. It might be time to let go of some of the excuses and justifications you give yourself that continue to sabotage your success.
Identify the people, tools, resources, partnerships, skills, qualities etc. that will support your process. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS ALONE!!!
Create a plan of action with dates of completion and schedule it out on the calendar.
Get an accountability partner.
Acknowledge your process. Every aspect has valuable learning.
Don't put a life you desire on hold any longer. How would your life be different if you could finally break through any barriers, challenges or obstacles that are holding you back from living a life you love. The time is now to step into your magnificence.
