"Crawl before you walk" is simple to say yet not easy for most of us to do. We are programmed to get there, be done and look for what's next. We don't have time to crawl. Maybe it's really that we don't make or take time to crawl. We think we will get left behind or miss something. We believe we should already know. We are trying to keep up with everyone else and we are losing ourselves. It is easy to get caught up in being busy without clarity or focus on what really matters.
We live in a fast paced society with countless obligations, goals, deadlines, schedules and appointments. That doesn't allow for the time, patience and practice to observe what is working and what is not working. We continue to do what does not work even faster and more of it. We buy the latest and greatest technology, tools, devices, communication and inventions known to man to support our empty quest for an experience of a fulfilled and purposeful life. STOP IT!!!
You can not get too much of what you do not need. It will always feel like "NOT ENOUGH".
Even the great golfer, Jack Nicklaus took time to tear his game apart and go back to basics when he assessed that his game had gone bad. He would look for his hidden weaknesses and behavior patterns that were limiting his performance. He did this to refine and rebuild his game. That same method can be applied to every area of life.
Just like Jack, if you are feeling like your "game of life" is not getting you what you want, it might be time to go back to basics and revisit your values, standards, boundaries, beliefs, practices and behaviors.
When you are willing to open yourself up to the wisdom in life's lessons, you will be amazed at the quality of your life. Things are not always as they seem. They are only what you believe them to be.
My invitation is to go back to basics and practice being in your life with intention and purpose. You will be amazed at what you will discover and experience. Contact me to explore what might be next for you on your journey towards a more peaceful today and a much brighter tomorrow!
