Addictions or Integrity Anchors - The Choice is Yours

Addictions - being abnormally tolerant to and dependent on something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming - has the potential to limit the capacity to take responsibility for your life

There is a natural tendency to deny or avoid the areas we struggle. Often we'll overcompensate for an area that we don't feel good about by investing our time and energy somewhere else. It is possible that addictions get formed here as an expression of I don't know what else to do about that but I bet I can find fulfillment somewhere else. Even if we know that the experience or the fulfillment we get from the addiction will be temporary. Addictions are empty and temporary because they are only a substitute for what you are not taking responsibility for long term. Too much of what you don't need won't satisfy you nor will it address the concern at hand.

If you truly want to thrive in all areas, you must be willing to address and handle something you've most been avoiding.
